Simply Classical Curriculum
Simply Classical Curriculum: Level A
Level A provides an introduction to wonder, books, and language. Intended for children ages 2-3 or special-needs children at an introductory level, this program offers daily lessons designed to teach beginning readiness abilities in the rich context of beauty, stories, and prayer. Level A emphasizes oral language through such enjoyable readiness concepts as animals sounds, counting books, and nursery rhymes.
Simply Classical Curriculum: Level B
Level B emphasizes the essentials, including fine-motor skills needed for writing, art, and daily living tasks. If necessary, these skills can be accomplished with hand-over-hand instruction. In Level B, the child also learns essential manners. Through books, activities, and crafts designed to help teach the sounds of letters, the child gains the essential ear training necessary for learning to read.
Simply Classical Curriculum: Level C
Designed for children with a chronological age or skill level of 4-5, Level C presumes an acquaintance with letters, numbers, books, listening, and learning. Level C helps you strengthen your child’s readiness skills with an integrated emphasis on animals and the alphabet. Lessons include traditional games and songs, stories, recitations, oral language exercises, number concepts, fine-motor activities, biblical literacy, and poetry.
Simply Classical Curriculum: Level 1
In Level 1, your child becomes a student. With consideration for his special needs, he receives tactile/sensory and movement/kinesthetic activities to aid learning and memory in reading, writing, and arithmetic. He embarks on observational nature study and classification with My Nature Journal. With proven methods in the classical tradition, he engages in Simply Classical Copybook and recitation exercises to strengthen language abilities, memory, and knowledge.
Simply Classical Curriculum: Level 2
In this level, the student grows steadily in reading comprehension, arithmetic, and the cultivation of character. With intensive phonics, he hones skills for reading and spelling. He also receives practice with reading fluency through carefully selected stories.

What others say about the Simply Classical Curriculum
“Simply Classical maintains the classical approach for which Memoria Press is so well known, but it dials back the difficulty a little bit and adds more hands-on and active learning that might be needed for children with special needs.”
“There will be families who are very thankful for the appearance of this curriculum; for years it’s seemed as though classical education and special needs might be incompatible. Then comes Cheryl Swope who just does it.”
